SafetyBarcelona
Watch your bag on Las Ramblas — pickpockets target tourists constantly, especially near the market. Use a crossbody bag worn in front. Never put your phone in a back pocket.

Avoid eating while walking — considered rude in Japan. 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience store food is genuinely excellent. Don't skip it thinking it's a downgrade — it isn't.

Get an OMNY card (tap-to-pay) instead of a MetroCard — 7th ride free after 12 in a week. Works with Apple Pay. Available at every subway entrance.

Restaurants near tourist spots add a "couvert" — bread, butter, olives placed on your table that you didn't order. It costs extra. You can refuse it — just say "Não quero, obrigado."

Hidden GemParis
Promenade Plantée — an elevated park built on a disused railway in eastern Paris. The world's original High Line, built 10 years before NYC's. Almost zero tourists.

If someone tells you a temple is "closed today" and offers to take you somewhere else — it's a scam. The Grand Palace is never closed to tourists. Just walk in through the main entrance.

Try with Tokyo
Is the Narita Express worth it or should I take a cheaper option?
The N'EX is the most comfortable but the Keisei Skyliner is faster and cheaper (¥2,520 vs ¥3,200) if you're heading to Ueno or Asakusa. For Shinjuku or Shibuya, the N'EX is the better choice — direct without transfers.

Either way, get a Suica IC card first (at JR machine in arrivals). Charge ¥2,000 minimum — works on everything in Tokyo.
